National Treasure

"Is not Terry's, Is mine!"

Late update, cuz I saw this movie last Thursday but thought I will rant about it anyway. I have to say I was obligated to go and see it (Thanks Pete! Heehee.. )

Ok whenever I heard Jerry Bruckheimer, I think of Amazing Race, CSI, or The Survivor. Ok ok... The survivor is by Mark Burnett, but you know what I mean. And then I saw the trailer of National Treasure, and then I thought is like Amazing Race mixes with CSI and The Survivor!! Normally I quite dig those adventure movies like The Goonies, but this one definitely wasn't in my viewing list. Lately there isn't much of a choice at the cinema so National Treasure for an easy night slurping away my frozen coke probably not a bad idea.

The movie title says it all, is about the National Treasure! A treasure hunting adventure that turned sour and lead to a long chasing game throughout the movie. Oh yes, forgot to add some Macguyver skills into this movie as Nicholas Cage showing his lemon skill. (figure that out yourself, if cant, then go and see the movie). Alright, you know sometimes you like one of those sarcasm joke that slip in when a very serious conversation was holding in one of the scene? Ok, there are plenty of them in this film, perhaps one way too many by the supporting actor as a character named Riley. Not just that, you can now feel sorry for the pensioner Hollywood actors that start fading away and hardly can get a role and now just have to take any role just so they can get paid. Oh yes, having Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel in this movie are quite wrong at so many levels. Mr admiration towards Harvey for his excellent performance in The Piano and Reservoir Dog is fading. Not that he isn't great anymore but definitely would like to see him in a more storyline foused kinda movie. I think I have enough rant for this movie.

Oh wait, one more thing. I did a search on Jerry Bruckheimer and I found his site. I am surprise to find out a few of his earlier production. Do you know there are a few good movies like Flashdance, The American Gigolo, The Beverly Hills Cop and Gangsters' Paradise are done by Jerry Bruckheimer?! Oh yes... WHAT A FEELING!!! KEEP BELIEVING!!!

Here's my review of National Treasure:
