Birth

I've watched this movie, Birth, a while back on the DVD that Pete brought back from UK. This movie didn't really make it big, and I'm sure many people probably never heard of it. But the particular controversial scene in this movie did make Nicole Kidman the centre of attention for quite some time.

Anna(Nicole Kidman) is a young widow who is finally getting on with her life after the death of her husband, Sean. Now engaged to be married, Anna meets a ten-year-old boy(Cameron Bright) who tells her he is Sean reincarnated. Though his story is both unsettling and absurd, Anna can't get the boy out of her mind. And much to the concern of her fiancée, her increased contact with him leads her to question the choices she has made in her life.

I didn't write the plot, just got it from IMDB, HA! But yeah, that's pretty much it.

The movie itself has nothing much happening. It let the characters developed slowly until you think you know where the movie is heading to at the end, and then it suddenly took a big turn and a different outcome ended the movie. As dull as it seems, actually it is quite engaging, and it actually make you more and more intrigued and curious what will happen next and how is gonna end between Nicole and a 10yo kid. It definitely drags you deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole. It is one of those movie, you need to be in the mood for it, I recommend when you are bit bored, moody, and nothing better to do on a sunday afternoon, then this is the movie for you.

I quite like Nicole in this movie, the short hair, swollen eyes from crying too much and minimal makeup in the movie gives her a fresh new look, instead of the bubbly blonde bimbo characters she were in her other movies. I don't mind the movie, but definitely not everyone's cup of tea. And the 10yo kid is a very dirty dirty lil' boy.
