I've had a stressful week at work last week, so I didn't really feel like blogging during the weekend. I had a doctor appoinment last Friday to check on my high blood pressure, and it is heading to the critical condition. Relaxing is definitely what I need to do more often, so I had a pretty quiet weekend, just chilled at home, did bit of walk around Balls Head at Wollstonecraft. Anyway, before I go totally off topic, I should stick to doing the review of a movie I went to see last Friday, called Red Eye.
After attending the funeral of her grandmother in Dallas, Lisa Reisert must take the dreaded red eye flight back to Miami to make it to work the next day. Lisa soon meets Jackson Ripner and their attraction grows. But moments after take-off, Jackson reveals to Lisa her father's wallet that he swiped off his desk and his real reason for being on board. Jackson needs Lisa's help to kill the deputy secretary of Homeland Security who's scheduled to stay at the Lux Atlantic Hotel, the hotel Lisa is the manager of. If she refuses to help, Jackson will call his partner on the ground and have her father killed. At 30,000 feet, Lisa has no where to run and no time for rash judgement.
That's the synopsis I got from IMDB. HA, I am just lazy. Anyway, the trailer seems alright, at first I thought is some sort of a horror movie with the guy's eyes grow red like demon. But then I saw a lengthy version of the trailer again, turned out to be just another thriller movie. And before we hit the cinema, Pete told me it has a bad rating at only 3 out of 10 stars he read from somewhere, so I wasn't really having high hope for the movie, but just something to keep me occupied for 2 hours.
Having said that, the movie turns out to be much better than I expected. It wasn't as bad as I thought, it even got 6.9/10 rating on IMDB. The movie started on pretty well, lot of suspense, and pretty intense the whole time while on the plane. The acting is quite alright, apart from a precocious kid. There are some mistakes and spoofs in the movie that I spotted which kinda funny. And some action scenes in the movie kinda ridiculous, cuz Pete even let a good laugh in the cinema during an action scene which not meant to be funny. The story itself is pretty straight forward, nothing really special. So I would think is definitely better than 3 out of 10, but then I would advise just wait till it is on cable.....

TOTAL : 5.5/10
I agree about the hilarious action scenes. After the movie I had a long (still unresolved) argument with my girlfriend about how implausible some of the action scenes were. Entertaining, yet implausible.
An OK movie nonetheless.
