My little Easter down south

kiama.jpg
Lighthouse at Kiama

Spent the Easter long weekend down south in Jervis Bay, you can check out some of the pics here. But funny most of the pics were not taken in Jervis bay but instead around Kangaroo Valley and in Kiama, cuz most of the time while we were in Jervis Bay, we either forgot to bring our camera or we will be in the water snorkelling.

The little short break was great, did bit of snorkelling, but ended up with a cut hand by falling over on my own snoggles (DUMB!), and did bit of fishing (my newest record : 2 puffer fish, and 1 unknown fish), but ended up with insect bites all over my legs. I have to say I am pretty over sightseeing Australia now, so hopefully by the time when I got my new passport in 5 months time (DO SOMETHING WITH IT MALAYSIA!), I will be saving up enough for a trip to UK and Tokyo. :P

Miss congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous

mg2.jpg
"There's only 1 Big Bird in Sesame Street, and why there's 2 here?"

I was trying to use up all the 2 for 1 ticket coupons that I've been collecting out of the cereal boxes, but stupid thing is, all the good movies released last weekend, and the coupons were unusable because it was public holiday. What a scam! But anyhow, I managed to go and watch the sequel of Miss Congeniality cuz I like the first movie alot.

This time, Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock), is famous because she was awarded as Miss Congeniality at the Miss United States Pageant in the first movie. Everyone recognises her kinda screwing up her undercover job. So she was sent to Las Vegas to held a conference as the public relations for the FBI and Sam Fuller (Regina King) who is undergoing an anger management was sent to be her bodyguard. In the mean time, Stan Fields (William Shatner) and Cheryl (Heather Burns), Miss United States was kidnapped by 2 brothers for ransom. As Cheryl is Gracie's best friend from the pageant, no doubt Gracie will still try to rescue them her own way even she was already assigned for the public relations program.

The movie itself not much of a story really but is enjoyable. As I really liked the first movie alot, with the witty jokes, great performance by Sandra Bullock, that's why I am kinda let down on the sequel with high expectations. There are jokes in the movie that I laughed, but not all. Some are clever, some are predictable. There isn't as much adventure as in the first one, alot of scenes are just about arguments between Gracie and Fuller instead of investigation about the kidnap. I don't even understand why they have to spend almost 1/4 of the movie at the airport sending Gracie and the crew back to NYC in 2 scenarios. I felt like it really trying to extend the length of the movie at its greatness. Funny thing is, there are lots of outtakes and extra scenes which had been cut out off the movie which I think can make the movie more interesting. So overall, I thought it was okay for an easy viewing pleasure, it doesn't have the appeal to me anymore like the first one did.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

katamari.jpg
I got myself addicted to Katamari Damacy recently, a highly addictive PS2 game. A game that is so stupid yet so funny, a little prince will keep rolling a ball and sticks everyone on earth and shoot it back into galaxy to become a star. Make sense? perhaps not, but you just have to play it, really.

I'll be away during Easter to Jervis Bay for a short holiday, snorkelling, swimming, eating and play Mahjong. Fun! Here's the little prince rolling a ball wishing you all a HAPPY EASTER!!

Best skyline of the world

hkskyline.jpg
Hong Kong has been crowned with the best skyline in the world where NYC claimed 2nd, Singapore on 5th, Kuala Lumpur on 7th (Malaysia BOLEH!) and Sydney on 14th.

This listing ranks cities by the visual impact of their skylines. It is drawn entirely from statistics in this website's database, and reflects only completed high-rise buildings as defined by the Emporis Data Committee (EDC). This calculation does not include TV towers, masts, bridges, or other structures.
But I found it ironic that Hong Kong is the country with the best skyline in the world, but also the country that has most government housing high rising in one small little island (must see). Sad....

I've got Y-3 bug!

adidasy3.jpg

Okay, I am a self-confessed Ebay shopaholic! I just can't help myself!!! And recently I've discovered the new line by Adidas, Y-3, a collaboration with world famous fashion designer, Yohji Yamamoto and I am in love with it!!! I've been browsing through their products for days now and I already have bookmarked the one I want. Too many items, too little time... and the wallet ain't allow either. I specially like their shoe lines and jacket, is brilliantly gorgeous. So far there is only one shop in Melbourne carry this line, and don't think they will have most of the models either. So I've been lurking around Ebay for days already and hopefully will score some goodies.

Check out the Y-3 site as well, is well presented as well, even though I know Sean won't agree with it! :P

Sydney Autumn

The storm yesterday in Sydney was quite horrifying. I took this picture on the way home through Gladesville Bridge, seeing the cars stucked all the way into city. I was so worried the roof might fly off in the middle of the night when the wind howling and blowing strongly last night.

Shanghai RAP!

I never know you can rap in Shanghainese, as a matter of fact, I don't even know what Shanghainese sounds like as I am Hokkien Nang myself. Not that I can speak Hokkien fluently.. Tampok Tampok lah... Anyway, found this song called "Passengers aren't God" mp3 online where this Shanghai Girl she raps in Shanghainese about her job as a flight attendant for the China Eastern Airlines and how unhappy she is. A rap borrowed from Enimem 'Slim Shady' aside, adding shanghainese slang and swear words, it is quite something. If you want the Chinese lyrics is on next page.

Download and listen "Passengers aren't God"

No problem~yeah~

Daffyd and his ring

mattlucas.jpgDaffyd, the chubby gay character in Little Britain, finally no longer the only gay in the village anymore in real life. Matt Lucas (Daffyd) has just exchanged eternity rings with his boyfriend Kevin McGee, who looks like Daniel Bedingfield. That's why Matt called him "Baby Bedingfield". HAHA! On the other hand, David Walliams, the other partner in Little Britain is definitely straight but unfortunately people keep mistaken him as gay because he always dress up as a lady in the show.

Another good news is, they are going to start shooting the 3rd series soon in April! However, looks like David and Matt fell behind writing all the sketches cuz they are too busy with the live show. And rumours has been speculating that many special guests will be on the 3rd series like Kylie Minogue, Dawn French, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Patsy Kensit etc. Well I hope not, I worry it might ruin the originality of the show and I might start to dislike it, just like Kath and Kim. 3rd series will be shown in UK around autumn, hopefully we won't have to wait too long for it. Can't wait!!!

Old Deuteronomy

ginger1.jpg
ginger2.jpg

I had my usual evening walk last night around Wollstonecraft area, and bumped into this ginger cat. He is quite chubby and friendly, I was on the other side of the road and he kept meowing at us to come over there and give me a pat. I think he is quite old and bit on the heavy side, he was panting a bit with noisy heavy breathing. He doesn't have a tag, so no idea what his name is, but I named him Old Deuteronomy.

kenpark.gif

kenpark.jpg
"bitty...."

Ken Park, what a controversial movie by Larry Clark!!! Ken Park was released in 2002 and now only I managed to get a copy for viewing pleasure. Ok not sure about the pleasure bit, but is definitely quite something. This movie has been banned in so many countries and if you really want to watch it, the only way is to get the DVD copy from Ebay like I did, and don't expect the quality is gonna be good either cuz most of them are from Russia (I wonder why), just consider yourself lucky to be able to own one copy. Larry Clark, is a name either you are so familiar with and watch all his films or another way, you totally never heard of. Just like most of his films, with a very distinctive borderline, you either love it or hate it. However, his latest film, Ken Park did make some diehard fans started to questioning themselves, whether they really like Larry's film after all. Larry's films like Kids, Bully and Ken Park are mostly about teenages, skaters and their problems with lives, families, friends and love. I haven't really watch most of his films to claim myself a fan, but it was quite something when I first watched Bully.

First of all, I really don't know what to think after watching it. It is quite disturbing watching it. This movie basically is about 5 teenagers and their twisted lives. Shawn seems to be the most conventional. Tate is brimming with psychotic rage; Claude is habitually harassed by his brutish father and coddled, rather uncomfortably, by his enormously pregnant mother. Peaches looks after her devoutly religious father, but yearns for freedom. They're all rather tight, or so they claim. But they spend precious little time together and none of them seems to know much about one another's family lives.

This movie is banned in Australia and US is because the movie showing kids under 18yo having sex which consider child pornography in most countries, simple as that. Larry is still fighting to have the movie screening in US. Margaret Pomeranz, from At the Movies and few companions pushing it to show the film in Balmain back in July 2003, and the screening got disturbed by the cops and shut down half way through. Margaret herself and few others rallied against it and got arrested, but fortunately the cops didn't lay any charges. There is no secret in Larry's movies, he will show you everything you wanna know and see in the movie. He will show you the real deal of a kid's sex life, from kinky sex to masturbation, no hiding, no weird camera angles, but just a straight point and shoot. However, I don't get aroused by it but in fact, I felt disturbed and unsettled. I can't help myself and started to think perhaps Larry do have a passion in teenager's sex life and considering this as a safety zone paedophilea act. I don't know, I really don't know, the movie is weird, the world is weird, everyone is gay!!! It's hard to do a review on this movie, I think you just need to see it yourself.

IF interactive

ininteractive.jpg

It's inspiring to see this interactive design agency from Malaysia doing such fine jobs over the period. IF Interactive is mainly focus on interactive media, teaching clients to reach out to their audience via interactivity approaches like motion sensing wall, playing with raindrops etc. The website itself is quite intuitive and fresh, I quite like the usability of it. Actually even their old site is quite impressive, I would have keep for many years before changing it.

Plant the tank

newplant1.jpg
My fish tank was bit dull with Elodea everywhere and a small anubias on driftwood, so decided to introduce more plants to give the fish tank a new makeover. At the pet shop, I can pick up to 3 different kind of plants for only $15.00, bargain! So I've picked some mid tank plant for the contrast, but I have no idea what they called!! If anyone knows what they are, please let me know! Maybe I should plant some 'kangkung' then I can cook them with Sambal! mwahahha!

Nikon Coolpix S1

nikoncoolpixs1.jpg

One more word - HOT! Currently owning way too many cameras, from Lomo to large format, to polaroid, to underwater Camera, to digital, but this little cute gem definitely can't be left out! At the moment I have 2 digital cameras, one (Canon 10D) for professional use, and one (Pentax Optio S4) just light-weight to carry around. The Pentax Optio is good to carry around but I found the quality isn't that impressive. I would definitely switch to this new Nikon Coolpix S1 once it comes out in April. The price is not too shabby at all at only USD$380, I think is very reasonable price.

For the specs part, The S1 has a five megapixel CCD, a three times folded-optics zoom lens (a first in a Coolpix) and a 2.5" LCD monitor (another Coolpix first). The S1 also features some Coolpix technology such as Face Priority AF, in-camera red-eye fix and D-Lighting. The (admittedly pretty stylish) Coolpix S1 will be available in three colors; black, silver and white, it will be out in April at about US$ 380. Additionaly there will also be a waterproof case available. The waterproof case definitely a thumbs up for me, I love to take it down underwater and snap pics of the fishie while snorkelling... YAY! And it comes in 3 colors, well White is my pick.

Moto Razr V3

motorolarzr.jpg

One word - HOT! I can't wait till my contract with 3 to finish so I can switch my fucking brick (Motorola A920)! This new released Motorola Moto Razr V3 does get my attention. It is only at 0.54 inch thin and weighs 3.35 ounces, and the design is seamless and slick. I don't normally use mobile phone much except few phone calls and sms, so features of a phone really doesn't bother me much, so long it has the basic features and shit. That's why normally I just go for the design. I still consider Motorola has the best mobile design ever. I used to have the 360 degree swivel phone, after watching Sammi Cheng using one in the movie. Actually I still like that phone alot. There is no other phone companies can beat Motorola as far as I am concerned. Nokia, just trying too hard with their design, the real thing always look so plasticky. Nokia die-hard fans will always say they familiar with the functions and where buttons are on a Nokia and found other phones user-unfriendly. And for Sony-Ericsson, well the phone is well-built, mainly focus on features. But the design is so-so really. Since K600 to P800, the design is still the same without changing much. So this time I would really give the new Moto Razr V3 a big thumbs up.

Now I just have to wait patiently till my contract finishes, the Moto Razr V3 now is selling at AUD699.00 in Australia. OUCH!

Strictly Bullshit

nikki.jpgAs cheesy as it gets, I found myself additcted to Dancing with the Stars showing on channel 7 every Tuesday night. The first series was totally a joke, with Pauline Hanson winning the competition by dancing like a crab. She won it because of her politician past, and thanks to all those Ipswich redneck votes.

But this time for the 2nd series, I am totally on Nikki Webster side! How could you not liking Nikki!! Do you still remember the young Nikkie with the flora pink dress during Olympics, the Strawberry Kisses...?? and now she is bloody 17yo with... BOOBIES! I really feel sorry for her, she'd been having so much controversy going on in this show. Everyone gossips about her and her dancing partner Sasha, having an affair, but don't they know most of the male dancers more likely are gays anyway?! And then the bitchy Holly Bisley and Susie Wilks even got on Current Affair and bitching about how unfair it was to have Nikki on the show just because she learnt Ballet when she was a kid. The whole show is meant for charity, and obviously the 2 bitches really don't care and wanna win and get famous again. If you never watch the show before, well most of the contestants are pretty much one hit wonders and is the only chance to get shine again by getting on the show.

Nikki had been portraited as a kid star for far too long and she really trying to break the image on this show by getting sexier and showing her maturity through the dance. Unfortunately, the boy from OZ, Todd McKenney, for being over picky on her Tango by giving her 1 point and leading her to elimination from the competition. And she cried... WAaahhhh.... I think the whole judging system of the show is stupid anyway. They don't seem to judge by overall how good they are in dancing, but instead having different expectations for different contestants. For like Nikki, she is way far the best dancer on the show and that becomes her weakness as all the judges judging her like thinking she is one of the professional dancer. As on the other hand, they gave Derryn Hinch a very decent scores just because of his improvements from week to week, even though he still dance like a log. Oh well, since Nikki is gone, I can't find an excuse why I should keep watching the show! Cuz I can't bare to see Daryl Somers to talk crap on and on and on....

Pros of the Show
1. Nikki Webster
2. It's always good to see celebrities humiliate themselves on TV.
3.Ian Roberts
4. It's so cheesy, is good.
5. Did I mention Ian Roberts?

Cons of the Show
1. Daryl Somers, who stucks in his Hey Hey shit. Fucking hell...can he talk or what?!
2. Stupid Judges giving me shits
3. Have to listen to the theme tune over and over again... "Dancing with the stars... Dance! Dance! Dance!"

Fried Pork Minced Noodle

noodle5.jpg

Does anyone really know how to define Taiwanese food? But there are few Taiwanese food and drink that you definitely have to try. Bubble Tea (AKA Pearl Ice Tea), ice tea with tapioca inside is one of my favorite, surprisingly not many people know is a drink invented in Taiwan. Anyway, one of my favorite Taiwanese food will have to be 炸醬面, Fried Pork Mince noodle, a Ramen noodle dish topped with fried pork mince in sweet spicy gravy sauce. Last night I tried to cook my own version and it is pretty good! Recipe next page if you wanna give it a try.

noodle1.jpg
Fry some pork mince with chopped garlic and chili.

noodle2.jpg
Boil some Ramen, you can get them at asian food store or even at Coles, asian food aisle. It only takes 4 minutes to cook the Ramen, so don't overcook it as you might end up having mesh.

noodle3.jpg
Add soysauce, dark mushroom soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper, and sugar.

noodle4.jpg
Once the noodle is cooked, add some choy sum in. If you don't have choy sum, use Bak Choy.

noodle5.jpg
Drain the water from the noodle, put inside a bowl, and pour the pork mince on top. Just as simple as that.

I topped the dish up by slicing up some pork ribs, fried them with dark soy sauce and honey till its cooked.

A nice weekend

mesip.jpg
Drinking beer with a straw... cuz I'm a lady....! LOL nah is just lemon lime bitters.

It's been a while to have a nice sunny weekend in Sydney. Last weekend I managed to get out and had some relaxation time at the beach etc. Pete, Dave and I drove all the way up northern beaches to where I used to live and had a great nice lunch at Newport Arms. Gosh I missed that place, sitting outside
having a nice Seafood Basket
overlooking Pittwater
, boats cruised by, you really can't beat that. On Sunday, went to Shelly Beach for some snorkelling as well which was refreshing. I brought along my underwater camera and took some photos of fishie, the cuttlefish probably the highlight, weird little creature they are. Will post the photos here once I get them developed.

Prawn Laksa

prawnlaksa.jpg

Recently discovered a new dinner hangout in Crows Nest. There is this Singaporean & Malaysian style restaurant inside the Crows Nest plaza where they do pretty authentic cuisine. Nothing too expensive and not too shabby, but definitely good for value and the food is surprisingly good. Apart fromt this restaurant, Ten-Sun a Japanese Ramen noodle shop right at the front of the mall was one of my favorite. I used to go there quite often when I worked around the area. But now I need to find another 'kaki' to go with me again.

Kung Fu Hustle

kungfuhustle2.jpg

As I had high hope over this movie and expected something brilliant from Stephen Chow, unfortunately Kung Fu Hustle doesn't delivered what Stephen does best, for being funny.

Set in 1930s, Sing (Stephen Chow) who aspires to be a member of the Axe Gang, the top triad in the region. Led by Brother Sum, the Axe Gang rules all thanks to their stylish attire, keen axe-throwing skills, and Smooth Criminal dancing skills. Sing can't really expect to become a member of the Axe Gang because he's useless and a poor bluffer. He and his tubby sidekick (Lam Tze-Chung) pretend to be Axe Gang members to shakedown the local slum Pig Sty Alley, but their antics cause more personal pain than profit, causing a big stir between the Axe Gang members and the hidden martial art masters in the alley. That's where the whole kung fu shenanigans started...

If you are a Stephen Chow fan, then you would know the normal humiliation, patronising sarcasm humour will be the best comedy of his films. There are some in the movie, but not all, that's why I kinda feel let down. The exagerrated CG as usual just like in Shaolin Soccer, as crap as it gets but you wouldn't mind it and somehow kinda cool and funny, specially the roadrunner chasing scene. Stephen Chow doesn't really focus on the love story much in Kung Fu, it plays a very minor plot of the whole story, which I don't mind at all, as it meant to be a good fun comedy. Character wise, a few of my favorites are, Rabbit Tooth Jane (哨牙珍), just how I like they found some ugly ones and put in on the screen, that's what Hollywood should do. The landlord lady (包租婆),probably has the best part in the movie. Another character that I dig is the Fairy (屎忽鬼),the master of iron fist, is quite funny and the Barber who keeps showing his butt crack is a cracker. Overall, the movie doesn't seem to be well plotted, instead of just trying to put as much comedy as possible into one, although some jokes I think is bit old-school which I don't find it funny. As reported, this film is not the best movie ever made in HK in 2004, but definitely has the highest gross income in HK last year, why?! Because is by Stephen Chow, the King of comedy from HK.

The Mahathir Government

consular.jpg

As my passport is going to expire soon, so I was trying my best to get my passport renew, only if the Malaysia consulate is a bit more helpful. First I rang them up just to ask whether I can get a new passport issued here in Australia since my old one is more than 10 years old and my 18yo photo in it with a mushroom is totally unrecognisable anymore. I mean is totally simple question, whether I can renew it here or not, but still they can't give me an answer and asked me just to come in during business hour (pic above), with photocopies of passport, IC and 2 passport photos. If you do a quick calculation, the total business hours in a week is 9 hours. So what do they do the rest of the week?

I got there last Tuesday, brought in all the documents required and shit, I thought that's it, they will do the rest and I will just wait till I received the new passport. Mind you they did tell me the new passport will take 3 months. (fucking great isnt it?). I am not surprise as I was expecting the worse, I'd spent the whole morning at the consulate, all they'd done is to ask me fill up a form, get some of the documents certified by a JP, and I have to pay $2.50 to get certified (RIP OFF!), and then.... I have to post it to Canberra myself!!! Is like?! what the fuck?! I could have just download the form from internet, fill it out, find a JP here around my offfice and I can send out it straight away! Fucking wasted all my time to drive all the way to Bellvue Hill for fucking looking at her babi face! Not to mention, the first attempt to the consulate, I mistaken their business hours as mon-fri, 9-5pm (that's the information provided on the internet), and she just told me they were closed and hung up on me over the intercom. I am sure that bitch saw me swearing at her over the itercom. The Malaysian Government has to be one of the most corrupted system I've ever seen. And you gotta love the consulate office itself, which is a Huge victorian bungalow, and a nice Mercedes parked in the garage.

Don't you just love those police trying to book you on the freeway right after you first came out of the Malaysia International Airport and asking for $50 ringgit or a ticket fine ?! Such a humiliation to Malaysian if that's what tourists will encounter when they first arrive to the country. SHAME.... MALU!... PAISEH!!....

My exercise regimen is going good, been doing exercise 3 times a week. Jogging around the block, at Cremorne Point, and some weight lifting. Apart from getting a healthier lifestyle which keeps me going, another reason what motivates me is the pussy cats around the neighbourhood. There will always some cats around to greet you and let you pat them. All different types, size and shape. It's good that some even become good friend always there in the morning to greet you like Lucy. As I always bringing my camera around whenever I go for a jog so decided to blog down all the friendly pussy cats in the neighbourhood from now on.

lucy.jpg
Lucy, the friendly long hair Ragdoll. She will always outside the house on the pathway to greet you. Sometimes she just sits on top of the gate column like a gaygoyle ready to be pat.
Spotted: Neutral Bay.

billy.jpg
Ironically, this cat is called Billy. First time saw him this morning on the way back from the walk. He is a mature old big cat just like to flow down and enjoy the sunshine. Don't mind us patting him though. I think Billy is a Tortoiseshell.
Spotted: Cremorne.

kitty.jpg
Kitty, I saw this cat a few time on my way to work but never pay attention till this morning he was lying outside the front yard, so I thought will go and say hello. First thing you will notice is his eyes, they are amazing! It's seldom to see cat with different colored eyes. Kitty is a pure white short hair, and just found out of those white cats with one or two blue eyes, 60-80% are deaf; 20-40% have normal hearing; 30-40% had one blue eye and were deaf while 60-70% had one blue eye and normal hearing.
Spotted: Balmain

BoA - Best of Soul

boat.jpgJust got BoA latest greatest hits album, Best of Soul. She is Korean, surprisingly she is more popular in Japan and within 2 years, she'd learnt Japanese and most of the latest R&B songs are in Japanese. This best of soul CD is great, 16 great hip hop songs by BoA plus a DVD with 15 of her music videos. You can listen some samples on BoA's site, here's are few my favorite: Amazing Kiss, No.1 and The Love Bug with M-flo.

Tropfest... what a load of...

tropfestdvd.jpg
short films!! Did you get your Tropfest DVD over the weekend? I hope you do. Pete managed to get a copy at the newsagent early Saturday morning, and we spent the day watching this year 16 finalist. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with the shorts this year, I am not quite sure how they judged the shorts this year, seems like only those big budget, professional film makers took the whole show. None in the finalist are consider "amateur". Every single shorts will have numerous sponsors like Kodak, Fuji, Panavisions. And when you check their bios, some has been making shorts over 15 years, and some had over 100 shorts on their sleeves. Even though, most of them have professional skill in film making, great cinematography and everything, but most of them couldn't deliver a good story. I'm glad the short, Australian Summer, took the best short award, simple, no arty farty cinematography, not trying too hard to come up with a twisted ending or australiana perhaps a bit of americana humiliation humour instead a good strong story to sum up the whole short. Great professional actors helps I guess. There are few shorts I thought they'd done a pretty good job like, In your dreams, Lucky and the rest, mmm I am not quite sure... I missed out this year entry, maybe next year. :P

Million Dollar Baby

milliondollarbaby.jpg
Hilary, "How many times do I have to tell you this is my show not yours? And Green is just not your color..."
Clint, "Whatever...."

It's one of those things, whenever I heard the name Clint Eastwood, "boring" is another word that came into my mind. I never really dig films with him in it, it is always so slow and boring, or you can define as movies for old people. However, as he gets older, and wiser perhaps, his creativity in film making really shine on the last two filmes he did, the Mystic River, and this year hot hit, Million Dollar Baby.

I wasn't intended to go and see the movie cuz 1. is by Clint Eastwood, 2. I am not into boxing, 3. Hillary Swank is an ugly mofo even though she is good in acting. The costume she wore to the Academy Awards was a disaster, never seen boobies separated so far apart in my life. But anyway, since the movie won the most oscars this year, there is no reason why I shouldn't watch it.

The movie is about a poor mature 31yo girl (Hilary Swank), who works as a diner waitress. But her real passion is in boxing, and always wanted to be a professional fighter, so that she can win the million dollar championship title and have a better life. She knows to get to the top she will need a good trainer, thats why she's chosen Frankie (Clint Eastwood) to be her trainer, even he will never take a girl on as a fighter, due to his own personal family affair issue with his own daughter. After a few persuasions, and with the help from Eddie (Morgan Freeman), Frankie decided to take her on the journey only if she follows all his instructions and rules without questions asked.

Surprisingly Clint Eastwood is such a good storyteller, it is fresh to see a movie just about boxing, and not another flick about ancient unsung heroes. There are humour, good dialogue, good casts throughout the movie, but nonetheless, the ending is definitely a killer. It is so powerful, that a few girls sitting behind us was sobbing so loud, and triggers the whole cinema ended up sniffing quietly together. I can see why this movie was nominated the best movie of the year and perhaps I would never see Clint Eastwood as a cowboy ever again but a pure genius.

Eyetalk

eyetalk.jpg

Being Ching Chong is not so easy you know. We have to smell like Soy Sauce most the time, have to eat loud at Yum Cha so you get the attention for the food, have to spit on the street just so people give you some space on the pathway. Not just that, now we even have to make our eyes look like caucasian eyes with seamline on the eyelids. Eyetalk teaches you how to make you look gorgeous. I am not quite sure what's those white stuff she put on hey eye though.... I hope is not what I think it is?

K歌之王

easonchan.jpg 陳奕迅

REPEAT *

I miss my Karaoke, it's been years... Just re-discovered this song by Eason Chan, love it. Would love to give it a try at K.
