About Shisso.Photoblog

I've started blogging at www.shisso.org since 2004, and have been showcasing some of my pictures through the blog. Then, friends started introducing me to Flickr, a community portal where all the photography enthusiasts can share their works to the world. I've started using it for quite some time but mainly uploading pictures to share with friends and family and still using it. However, before my disorganised habit gets out of hand, so I've decided to set up this photoblog and start organising my photos on a daily basis.

Shisso.Photoblog will showcase some of my best works in photography on a daily basis. "A photo a day", each day, a picture will be uploaded here along with thoughts, stories, or anything that comes into mind. As I strongly believe an image speaks a thousand words, hopefully you would enjoy my photographs as much as I taking them.

About Photography

I've been taking pictures on and off for 15 years. My very first camera I bought, which was a Yashica SLR 35mm. Since then, I have discovered the beauty of nature from a different point of view through the lens. I've also started to learn about film processing and developing by setting up a dark room in my own bedroom which ended up stinky for days. I like to experiment with different kinds of cameras and lenses, and I have played and owned quite few SLR and digital cameras in my life. Currently, I mainly take pictures in digital RAW format as it is cost and time friendly. However, sometimes I do prefer to go for the traditional way by shooting B/W using a medium format camera. At the end of the day, it's not about the equipment you using, is how you interpret yourself through your photographs. As what the lomography will say, "Shoot from the hips", you might surprise the perfect shot is always the least expected.
