If people ask me how long have I been taking photography seriously, I probably would have said 2 years ago when I purchased my first DSLR and start shooting days and nights, everyday of everything, hoping for more comments and favs.
I was so wrong! But deep down, I knew nothing about the meaning of photography. If people asked who is my favorite photographer, I simply couldn't give them an answer. I never heard Cartier Besson, or Parr, or Soth, or Arbus. It was embarassing when the conversation just fell cold and the silence awkward moment. I simply wasn't trained to see things the way I see it now.
I've learnt to let go, have a clear mind and start all over. Learn to put your camera down when needs to. Go to bookshop spend couple of hundred dollars on books and DVDs, learn from the beginning. Don't get hasty for fame, cause I've seen enough people around me who fell for it, crashed and burnt. Just like a moth to a flame, and will only get burned by the fire.
If people ask me how long have I been taking photography seriously again - "It only started yesterday and I am still learning everyday..."
